Mojave!

We set out from Hikertown as the sun was starting to set. About a half mile north the trail turns right and runs alongside the California aqueduct. It’s an open waterway but it didn’t cool us down much! A group of us left together, and Dad and I walked for a bit with “Beef Boy”. He is a carpenter from the UK. It was nice to talk with him, and Dad said he was a really good listener 🙂

We must have been hiking slowly uphill because the aqueduct slowly got lower and went underground. We kept hiking after sunset and got about ½ way to Tehachapi before stopping. It was so much cooler hiking in the evening though!
