“King Magnus” and “His Dad”

I was given the trail name “King Magnus” earlier on the trail, and it has seemed to stick. I’m not really ever without my Dad, and so my trail name kind of goes with his trail name, “His Dad”. As in, oh there goes King Magnus and His Dad. Dad likes his trail name, although my Mum still says he is the king, and so I think he is open to other trail name ideas 🙂

The lady who first came up with my trail name is Croc. She suggested it because of how fast Dad and I were making it through the first part of the desert section. Thanks, Croc! I don’t remember how Croc got her trail name, but there was a lot going on when she shared about it. If you know, tell me!

Croc (3rd from left) suggested “King Magnus” because of our pace. It has stuck and I like it!

There are two reasons I like my trail name. The first is because it has my real name in it, Magnus, and it’s different from my nickname, ‘The G’. The second reason I like it is because it fits with my Dad’s trail name. Everyone tells me how lucky I am to be hiking the PCT with my Dad, and I know it. My Dad is the king, I love you Dad!
