Mike’s Place

About a third of the way between Warner Springs and Anza is Mike’s Place, and it’s right on the PCT. Neither Mike nor his crew were there when we came through, and there were only a few other hikers. I think it’s pretty nice that he just lets PCT hikers use his place to shelter from the wind and the sun, and get water.

It’s a steep path up to Mike’s place.

Mike’s actual place had some fun looking stuff lying around, reminding me a little bit of the treasures in my Uncle Mike’s repair shop in Malott. Hi Uncle Mike! My Uncle Mike has a pretty nice looking old convertible cherry Cadillac in his workshop, and Mike’s Place had this old hand-painted convertible with a surf board sticking out of it.

There’s plenty of room at Mike’s place.

We camped overnight here and it was so nice to be out of the wind for the night. It was still cold at night, in the mid-thirties, but at least we weren’t getting stuff blown into our faces 🙂
