Goldmine!

It was a hot uphill hike out of Green Valley. A nice reward was to spot an old gold mine. At least, I think it was a gold mine. I have seen a few disused mines, in Washington and in Australia, and they’re often in pretty bad shape. This one seemed to be in good condition, and so Dad let me go a little way into it. It was awesome!

This beauty of a mine was right off the trail!

Something else was very cool about this mine… I found a few little tiles that someone had left, almost like an altar, and one of them had the same Wünderlik word on it like we saw in woods near Silver Lake! Very mysterious!

Little tiles had a poem inscribed and attributed to “The Wünderliks”
… the same name we had seen near Silver Lake!

The poem was a little bit odd, but I thought I would put it here for the sake of the mystery 🙂

It taught me about dreams
In time they become narrow specters
That cling like lovers wanting kisses
Whispering from hollow hearts
Promises that won’t be kept.

THE WÜNDERLIKS
